Pediatric Urology (click here to visit our new web site)
Pediatric urology is one of the busiest clinical practices in the Division. Dr. Duncan Wilcox, Dr. Jeffrey Campbell and Dr. Vijaya Vemulakonda conduct multi-specialty pediatric clinics and offer a full range of pediatric surgical competencies at The Children’s Hospital and satellite clinic facilities located throughout metro-Denver. The pediatric urology group has pioneered and popularized surgical techniques that are now employed worldwide including: the incised urethral plate repair for hypospadias, laparoscopic nephrectomy in children, the MACE procedure for fecal incontinence, minimally invasive surgery for the undescended testis, and the extraperitoneal approach to renal transplantation in low weight children. Sensitive issues of pediatric genital repair and gender ambiguity are handled with the utmost discretion and state-of-the-art management by our pediatric urology team. Outreach clinics have been established throughout the Denver and the region to serve the diverse patient population of the state.
