"Dear Dr. Flynn--When we were talking today I was trying to be sure that I answered all of you questions and made sure that you understood not only how well the surgeries have worked for me, but also any small problems that remained. As I was driving back to Monument I wondered if I had put too much emphasis on the "small remaining problems" and not enough on how very happy I am with the results. 

So, in what may very well be my last email to you--at least for a long time--I just want to make sure you understand the following:

    When I contacted you, my incontinence pretty much ruled my life.  I lived an active lifestyle, but had to make very careful plans before hiking or even going for a walk.  I would set out on a hike in the desert carrying 3 or 4 heavy duty pads, plus taking extra plastic bags to carry the soaked pads back to the trailhead. Occasionally, even that was not adequate! Although it is true I enjoy the solitude of hiking alone, probably one reason that I got in the habit of hiking alone was that all of the above was hard to explain and embarrassing. The positive results of the TVT were life-changing in a way that no one who has not lived with incontinence can even imagine.  That you were able to then correct the prolapse problems was more than I believed possible. Finding out today that I have healed up so very well seems almost more than a 76 year-old woman could hope for.

So please believe me that despite a small glitch in my overall bladder control, I am completely satisfied with the results of the surgeries and very, very grateful for the difference you have made in my life.

Keep up the good work and please take care of yourself. We need more doctors like you.

Dr. B. Flynn is the best darn surgeon and urologist ever! This man with his blessed talent, gifted hands and understanding has given me my life back, and given me back to my family, through this surgery. He definitely treats you like a person and not just a patient number. I, and my family can not give enough high praise to this wonderful man, and to the rest of the hospital staff for my recover stay in the step down unit and the 9th surgery floor. It's the best care any where, and the most quiet rest I've ever had in a hospital stay. Totally top notch!!!

May 5th is the first anniversary of the 3rd AUS that you placed in me. It is by far the best!!! It works even better than the other 2 and I have had no problems. Thank you so much for everything! It certainly makes a huge difference in my life.
